The Hon. Scott C. Fairgrieve is a judge for the Nassau County District Court in the Tenth Judicial District of New York. He was first elected to the District Court bench in 2001 and was subsequently re-elected in 2007, 2013, and 2018.
He is a registered Democrat.
Judge Fairgrieve received his B.A. from Adelphi University in 1973. He went on to earn his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 1976.
Prior to joining the Courts, he served as an attorney in private practice for twenty-four years, where he specialized in litigation and general practice.
During that same time, Fairgrieve served as a Mineola Village trustee from 1982 to 1994 and was also a deputy mayor of Mineola Village from 1985 to 1987.
In 2005, he began teaching as an adjunct professor at Long Island University, C.W. Post.
He has served as past president of the Nassau County District Court Judges’ Association and a member of the Nassau County Bar Association.
