Judge Randy Sue Marber - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Randy Sue Marber is a justice of the Nassau County Supreme Court in the Tenth Judicial District of New York. Marber was initially elected to the Nassau County District Court in 2002, where she presided over civil and criminal cases as well as landlord-tenant disputes. Then, in 2007, she was elected to the Nassau County Supreme Court.

Marber earned a B.A. from the University of Rochester. She then completed a J.D. at the Boston University School of Law.

She began her legal career as an associate at Huenke & Rodriguez, where she was assigned to be staff counsel for the Hanover Insurance Company. Marber then joined Curtis, Zaklukiewicz, Vasile, Devine and McElhenny. As a senior associate and trial attorney, she specialized in the defense of personal injury matters, acting as outside counsel to various insurance carriers and self-insured corporations.

In 2000 Marber left the public sector in order to serve as a principal law clerk for the Hon. Allan L. Winick of the New York State Supreme Court.

Her memberships have included the New York State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Nassau County, the Suffolk County Bar Association, the Nassau-Suffolk Trial Lawyers Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Women’s Bar Association, the Huntington Lawyers Club, the Theodore Roosevelt American Inn of Court, and the Speakers Bureau of the Nassau County Court System.

Marber has participated in the Walk Far for NAAR. She has also been a member of the Long Island Women’s Agenda and the Syosset Chamber of Commerce.

She was raised on Long Island. She is married to Paul A. Marber of The Cochran Firm in Manhattan.
