Biography

The Hon. Marianne Lloyd Aho is a judge for the 4th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Scott in 2014, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Brian Davis to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.


The 4th Judicial Circuit encompasses Clay County, Duval County, and Nassau County. Aho has held assignments in Duval County, presiding over cases in the Civil Division.


Prior to her appointment, Aho was a shareholder at Marks Gray, a law firm she joined in 2008. Before that, she spent time as a shareholder at McConnaughhay, Duffy, et al. (2001 to 2008).


Aho earned a B.A. in history from Rice University in 1986. She then completed a J.D. at the Florida State University College of Law in 1989.


After graduating from law school, Aho began her legal career as a law clerk for the Florida First District Court of Appeal. The following year, she entered into private practice, specializing in commercial litigation and civil defense litigation as an associate at Smith, Hulsey & Busey (1991 to 1995), Dale, Bald, Showalter & Mercier (1995 to 1997), and Hinshaw & Culbertson (1997 to 2001).


Her memberships have included the Chester Bedell American Inn of Court, the Jacksonville Bar Association, the Jacksonville Association of Defense Counsel, the Florida Defense Lawyers Association, the Litigation Counsel of America, and Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Inc.


Aho was born in Miami, Florida.
