Biography

The Hon. Erica L. Prager is a judge for the Nassau County District Court in the Tenth Judicial District of New York. She was initially elected to the bench in 2002.

Prager earned a B.S. from Cornell University in 1986. She then completed a J.D. from Yeshiva University, Cardozo School of Law in 1989.

After graduating from law school, she began her legal career as an assistant district attorney in the Office of the District Attorney of Kings County. Six years later, she left the Office of the District Attorney in order to start her own private practice as a sole practitioner. She worked in that capacity until her election to the bench.

Prager has served as an investigator with the Office of the Inspector General of the New York City Housing Authority. She also served on the Board of Directors of Great Neck Arts Center.

Her father was the senior vice-president of Lily of France, a New York-based clothing company. Her mother was the vice-president of patient-care services at the Long Island College Hospital.
