Biography

Hon. David J. Klein is a judge for the 148th District Court of Texas in Nueces County. He was elected to the bench on November 8, 2022.

Prior to his election, Klein managed his own private practice, Klein Law, PLLC (2006 to 2023), and was also an attorney at Woolsey & Associates (2013 to 2023). His areas of practice included family law, personal injury, and criminal defense.

He received a B.B.A. in finance from the University of Texas at Austin in 1995. Klein went on to complete a J.D. at University of Texas at Austin School of Law in 1998.

After graduating from law school, he began his legal career in Houston, where he worked in construction litigation. Klein relocated to Corpus Christi in 2000 and joined a local civil litigation law firm, practicing there until establishing his own law firm in 2006.

He is a past president of the Corpus Christi Bar Association (Criminal Section) and has served on its Board of Directors. Klein has also served as president of the Trinity Our Savior Lutheran Church and sits on its Board of Elders.

His wife, Hon. Inna Klein, presides as a judge for the 214th District Court in Nueces County. Klein is an Eagle Scout and a member of the Scouting fraternity, the Order of the Arrow.

He is registered as a Republican.
