Judge Daniel S. Diehn - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Daniel S. Diehn is a judge for the Jackson County Circuit Court in Wisconsin. He was elected to the bench in 2021.

Prior to his election, Diehn was the District Attorney for Jackson County, a position to which he was named in 2018. Before that, he spent time as the City Attorney for Black River Falls (1999 to 2016) and a court commissioner for the Jackson County Circuit Court (2008 to 2018).

Diehn earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and economics from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 1992. He then completed a J.D. at Arizona State University, Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law in 1995. He is admitted to practice in Arizona (1995) and Wisconsin (1996).

After graduating from law school, Diehn began his legal career as a law clerk to the Hon. Edward C. Voss of the Arizona Court of Appeals. He worked in that capacity until 1996, at which time he opened his own practice as a sole practitioner. Diehn handled family law, divorce, real estate, estate planning, municipal prosecution, criminal defense, and civil litigation matters.

His memberships have included the Tri-County Bar Association. He has served on the Jackson County Drug Court Steering Committee as well as the Advisory Council of the Jackson County Boys & Girls Club and the Board of Directors of Friends Sharing Food.

Raised in Jackson County, Diehn attended Black River Falls High School. He and his wife have two children.
