Judge Conrad D. Singer - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Conrad D. Singer is a judge for the Nassau County Family Court in the Tenth Judicial District of New York. He was first elected to the bench in 2007.

Singer earned a B.B.A. from Adelphi University in 1985. He then completed a J.D. at the Pace University, Elisabeth Haub School of Law in 1989.

After graduating from law school, Singer began his legal career as an assistant district attorney in the Office of the District Attorney of Dutchess County in 1990. His time there, however, would be brief. The following year, he entered into private practice, first working as a litigation associate at Feldman & Rudy. Then, in 1993, he joined the Law Office of Bruce A. Lawrence as well as the Law Office of Robert Elan. He worked as a trial attorney with these two firms for the next two years, eventually leaving to start his own private practice in 1995.

Singer began his judicial career by serving as a village justice for the Justice Court of the Village of Great Neck Plaza in 2000. While serving as a village justice, Singer also worked as a hearing officer for the New York State Education Department (2003 to 2006) as well as a judicial hearing officer for the Traffic and Parking Violations Bureau of Nassau County (2004 to 2006).

He has served as treasurer of the New York State Bar Association. His other memberships have included the New York State Family Court Judges Association and the Great Neck Vigilant Fire Department.

Singer was named Judge of the Year by the New York State Family Court Judges Association in 2013.
