Judge Christine A. Marlewski - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Christine A. Marlewski is a judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Hillsborough County. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Scott in 2017, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. William P. Levens (Ret.).

Marlewski has held an assignment in the Criminal Division.

She received a B.S. in environmental science from the University of Florida in 1997. Marlewski went on to earn a J.D. from the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, in 2001.

After graduating from law school, she joined GrayRobinson. Marlewski was an equity shareholder at the firm at the time of her appointment. Her areas of practice included civil and commercial litigation and product liability.

She has also taught trial advocacy as an adjunct professor at Stetson University College of Law since 2008 and was on the Trial Academy faculty of the International Association of Defense Counsel.

Marlewski is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by The Florida Bar (2010). She also holds a certificate in Public International Law from the Hague Academy of International Law (2015).

Her memberships have included the American Board of Trial Advocates, the J. Clifford Cheatwood Inn of Court, the Stan Givens Family Law Inn of Court, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Hillsborough County Association of Women Lawyers, and the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa. She has also served a board member of the Florida Bar Code and Rules of Evidence Committee, a fellow and executive board member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, and a member of the United Way Women's Leadership Steering Committee.
