Biography

The Hon. Carol A. Falvey is a judge for the 5th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jeb Bush in 2005.


The 5th Judicial Circuit encompasses Citrus County, Hernando County, Lake County, Marion County, and Sumter County. Falvey has held assignments in Citrus County, presiding over cases in the Family Division and the Civil Division.


Prior to her appointment, Falvey worked as an attorney in private practice in Marion County.


Falvey received a B.B.A. in accounting from the University of Notre Dame in 1982. She went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, in 1986.


Her memberships have included the Citrus-Hernando American Inns of Court and the Family Law Advisory Group. Falvey also served as treasurer of the Florida Conference of Circuit Judges.


Falvey was raised in Minnesota. When not presiding over legal matters, she enjoys running.
