Biography

Hon. Brandon J. Rafool is a judge for the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Ron DeSantis on June 13, 2023, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Larry Helms.

The 10th Judicial Circuit encompasses Hardee County, Highlands County, and Polk County. Rafool has held assignments in Polk County, presiding over cases in the Civil Division.

Prior to his appointment, Rafool was a judge for the Polk County Court, a position to which he was named in 2021. During his tenure there, he presided over the County General Civil/Evictions docket.

He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in 1989. He went on to complete a J.D. at Stetson University College of Law in 1992. He was admitted to practice in Florida (1992), the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the United States Supreme Court.

After graduating from law school, Rafool entered into private practice. He eventually opened the Rafool Firm in 2002.

He was a resident of Winter Haven, Florida, at the time of his appointment.
