Biography

Hon. T. Christopher Dee is a judge for the Milwaukee County Circuit Court in the First Judicial District of Wisconsin. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Scott Walker in 2014, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Karen E. Christenson (Ret.).

Dee has served as the presiding judge of the Misdemeanor Division.

Prior to his appointment, he worked for fifteen years as an assistant district attorney with the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office (1999 to 2014). As such, Dee focused on prosecuting child protection cases. Before that, he served as an assistant city attorney for the City of Kenosha (1995 to 1999) and the City of Madison (1992 to 1995).

Dee received a bachelor’s degree in political science and government from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1989. He went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1992.

He was admitted to practice in Wisconsin (1992) and the United States District Court for the Eastern and Western District of Wisconsin (1992).

Dee has trained police officers, child welfare social workers, and attorneys on a range of legal matters, including courtroom preparation and termination of parental rights.

He was appointed by Governor Walker to serve as a member of the Wisconsin Advisory Board for the Interstate Compact on Juveniles and was also a member of the Felmers Chaney Correctional Center Community Advisory Board.

At the time of his appointment, Dee resided in Oak Creek with his wife and three children.
