The Hon. Stephen V. Higdon is a judge for the Union County District Court (20B) in North Carolina. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Bev Perdue in 2011.
Union County includes 20B, 20C, and 20D Judicial Districts.
Prior to his appointment, Higdon spent thirteen years as an assistant district attorney with the Union County District Attorney’s Office (1997 to 2011).
He received a B.A. in English and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1993. Higdon then completed a J.D. at Wake Forest University School of Law in 1997.
He is a past president of the Union County Bar Association and sat on the Board of Directors of the Union County Crisis Assistance Ministry.
