The Hon. Robert J. Fleming (Ret.) was a judge for the 11th Judicial District Court of Kansas. He was appointed to the bench in 1996. Fleming retired on July 14, 2017.
The 11th Judicial District includes Cherokee, Crawford, and Labette Counties. Fleming held an assignment in Labette County.
Prior to his appointment, he was in private practice since 1968 and was the city attorney for the City of Mulberry (1970 to 1973).
Fleming received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Pittsburg State University. He then completed a J.D. at Washburn University School of Law.
Fleming served as a member of the Kansas Judicial Council and the Commission for Judicial Qualifications. He also sat as a member of the Executive Committee of the Kansas District Judges Association, including as its past president.
Following his retirement, Fleming hoped to enter private mediation and to spend more time with his grandchildren.
