The Hon. Richard D. Anderson (Ret.) was a judge for the 3rd Judicial District Court of Kansas in Shawnee County. He was appointed to the bench in 1999. Anderson retired in 2022.
During his judicial tenure, he was appointed Chief Judge of the 3rd Judicial District by the Kansas Supreme Court.
Prior to his appointment, Anderson spent eighteen years in private practice, where his practice focused on labor, employment, and construction law. He also taught as an adjunct professor at Washburn University.
Anderson received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. He then completed a J.D. at Washburn University School of Law in 1980.
His memberships include the Topeka Bar Association and the Kansas Bar Association.
Anderson was born in Nebraska.
