The Hon. Philip S. Wartenberg is a general magistrate for the 13th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Hillsborough County. He was appointed to the bench by former Chief Judge Ronald Ficarrotta in 2020, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Mary Lou Cuellar-Stilo.
Wartenberg has held an assignment in the Domestic Relations Division.
Prior to his appointment, he was a shareholder at Allen Dell, P.A. since 2016. Before joining the firm, Wartenberg managed his own private practice, Wartenberg Law Group, P.A., for fourteen years (2001 to 2016) and was an attorney in the Law Offices of Nancy Hutcheson Harris, P.A. (1998 to 2001) and a senior staff attorney in the Legal Department of the 13th Judicial Circuit (1995 to 1998).
Wartenberg received a B.S. in business administration and finance from the University of Florida, Warrington College of Business in 1991. He then completed a J.D. at Stetson University College of Law in 1994.
He chaired the Family Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association (2007 to 2008). He was Board Certified in Marital and Family Law by the Florida Bar in 2007.
