The Hon. Michael J. Hoelscher is a judge for the 18th Judicial District Court of Kansas. He was elected to the bench on November 4, 2014.
The 18th Judicial District encompasses Sedgwick County.
Prior to his election, Hoelscher was an assistant city attorney for the Wichita City Attorney’s Office, a position to which he was named in 2008. Before that, he spent time as an assistant district attorney with the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office (2002 to 2008).
Hoelscher earned a bachelor’s degree from Newman University. He then completed a J.D. at Washburn University School of Law.
He is registered as a Republican.
