Hon. Mary Lou Cuellar-Stilo (Ret.) was a general magistrate for the 13th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Hillsborough County. She was appointed to the position by the Hon. Manuel Menendez, Jr., former Chief Judge of the 13th Judicial Circuit, in 2007. Cuellar-Stilo retired in July 2020, becoming an associate with Cole, Scott & Kissane in their Tampa office, where her practice focuses on the areas of Appellate, Insurance Coverage and Carrier Representation, Family Law, and Child Welfare Litigation.
During her tenure on the Circuit Court, Cuellar-Stilo presided in the Unified Family Court, Domestic Relations/Family Division.
She received a B.A. in English literature from the University of South Florida in 1981. Cuellar-Stilo then completed a J.D. at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, in 1984.
She was chair of The Florida Bar Family Law Rules Committee and co-chair of the Hillsborough Association for Women Lawyers Mentoring Committee. Cuellar-Stilo has also held memberships with the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Tampa Hispanic Bar Association.
