Judge Javier A. Enríquez: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

The Hon. Javier A. Enríquez is a judge for the 11th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Miami-Dade County. He was appointed to the seat by Governor Ron DeSantis in 2023, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Maria Dennis.

Prior to his appointment, Enriquez sat as a judge for the Miami-Dade County Court in Florida, having been appointed by Governor DeSantis on November 4, 2021, to a vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Diana Vizcaino.

Before beginning his judicial career, Enríquez was General Counsel and Chief Ethics Officer for the Florida Department of Children and Families, a position to which he was named in 2019. He joined the department after practicing as a partner at Jeffrey & Enriquez (2017 to 2019).

Enríquez earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and government (2010) and a master’s degree in public administration (2011) from the University of Miami. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Miami School of Law in 2014.

After graduating from law school, Enríquez entered into private practice, specializing in family law and corporate law. He started as an associate at the Law Offices of Eddy Marban (2015) and Rafool & Hernandez (2015 to 2016). He then opened his own private practice as a sole practitioner.

His memberships have included the Cuban American Bar Association, the Republican National Lawyers Association, and the Federalist Society. He also sat on the Board of Directors of the Miami Chapter of the United States National Committee to the United Nations Women, and he served as Deputy Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus Coral Gables Council.

He is registered as a Republican.
