The Hon. Erin S. Hucks is a judge for the Union County District Court (20D) in North Carolina. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Roy Cooper in 2019, filling the vacancy created by the transfer of Hon. William Helms to District 20B.
Union County includes 20B, 20C, and 20D Judicial Districts.
Prior to her appointment, Hucks was a partner at Hucks & Reagan, LLP, having practiced at the firm for more than ten years. During her time in private practice, she spent eight years as an attorney for the Union County Child Support Enforcement Agency.
She received a B.A. from North Carolina State University. Hucks then completed a J.D. at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law.
Her memberships include the Union County Bar Association, the Alliance of Women Trial Lawyers, the National Association of Drug Court Professionals, and the North Carolina Bar Association’s Bar Leadership Institute. Hucks is also a founding member of the Union County Women’s Bar Association.
Hucks was named one of the “Best Criminal Law Attorneys in North Carolina” by the American Institute of Criminal Law Attorneys in 2017.
Hucks hails from Atlanta, Georgia, and moved to Weddington, North Carolina, with her family in 1998. She resides in New Salem with her husband, Andy Hogan.
She is registered as a Republican.
