The Hon. Christopher S. Ferebee is a judge for the 7th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Scott in 2018, filling a vacancy created by the removal of the Hon. Scott DuPont.
The 7th Judicial Circuit encompasses Flagler County, Putnam County, St. Johns County, and Volusia County. Ferebee has held assignments in St. Johns County, presiding over cases in the unified family court.
Ferebee earned a B.S. from the University of Georgia in 1997. He spent the next few years working as a sales representative and a sales manager for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution before completing a J.D. at Florida Coastal School of Law in 2005. As a law student, he clerked at Dale G. Westling, P.A. (2003 to 2005).
After graduating from law school, Ferebee began his legal career as an assistant state attorney in the Office of the State Attorney for the 7th Judicial Circuit. He prosecuted cases in the misdemeanor division and the felony division, quickly rising through the ranks to become a career criminal prosecutor. He concluded his tenure there as a managing assistant state attorney, responsible for supervising eight assistant state attorneys and thirteen support staff members, all in addition to carrying his own caseload.
Ferebee was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and relocated to Florida in 2002.
