The Hon. Charles S. Beach II is an associate judge of the Pretrial Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County. He was appointed to the bench in 2018 by the Illinois Circuit Court and re-elected in 2018.
Before pursuing a legal career, Beach graduated with a B.A. from Michigan State University in 1992. He then went on to earn his J.D. in 1996 from DePaul University College of Law.
After earning his law degree, Beach worked as an assistant public defender for the Cook County Public Defender’s Office. Before taking the bench seat, Beach worked as an attorney in private practice for 13 years, specializing in DUI and Traffic law.
In addition to his services to the court, Beach is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the Women's Criminal Defense Bar, the Illinois Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the LAGBAC. He is also a founding member of the Chicago Bar Association Pro Bono Statutory Summary Suspension Program and served as chairman of the Chicago Bar Association Traffic Law Committee.
Beach is a registered Democrat.
