The Hon. Brooklynn M. Townsend is a judge for the Polk County General Sessions Court in Tennessee. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Bill Haslam on November 14, 2017, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Billy D. Baliles.
Townsend also sits by jurisdiction over the Polk County Juvenile Court. Prior to her appointment, she worked as an assistant district attorney for the 10th Judicial District since 2007. For the last two years of her tenure there, Townsend served as the Polk County team leader.
She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida. Townsend then completed a J.D. at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, in 2006.
She has been involved with the Benton Lions Club.
Townsend and her husband, Chris, reside on their farm in Ocee.
She is registered as a Republican.
