The Hon. Ayesha K. Brantley is a judge for the Nassau County Family Court in the Tenth Judicial District of New York. She was elected to the Family Court in 2017.
She is a registered Democrat.
Judge Brantley received her bachelor’s degree from Cornell University in 2000. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2004.
She first worked as a litigation associate at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver, and Jacobson LLP and with the Stewart Law Firm LLP. Her other legal experience included working as a court attorney with the Nassau Family Court and as a prosecutor with the Administration for Children’s Services in the Family Court Legal Services Bureau. Then, in 2009, Brantley became a senior court attorney with the New York City Family Court and would serve in that capacity until becoming a village justice for the Hempstead Village Court in 2013. During that time, she also practiced as an attorney with the law firm Mejias, Milgrim, and Alvarado PC, where she helped litigate child welfare, custody, and matrimonial cases. She remained in those positions until her election to the Family Court bench in 2017.
Her memberships have included serving as a board member of the Nassau County Magistrates Association and as a member of the Nassau County Bar Association, the Nassau County Women’s Bar Association, the Amistad Bar Association, the Judicial Friends Association, the National Bar Association, and the New York State Magistrates Association.
